Kaeru

An AI workspace for people who build things without being developers.

In development

Most development tools assume you already know what a terminal, a branch or a merge conflict is. Kaeru assumes you do not, and still hands you the real terminal, real git and a proper editor underneath, so what you learn transfers to the tools professionals use. It ships as a native desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux, in English and Japanese.

What it does

  • A real terminal with native PTY, split panes, and WSL as a first-class workspace on Windows
  • A CodeMirror 6 editor with inline AI autocomplete and diffs you accept or reject hunk by hunk
  • Source control in plain language: stage, commit and push, with a real commit graph and no git jargon
  • An agentic workflow on Claude, with project memory, custom agents and bash gated behind approval
  • Around 7 to 8 MB on disk, built on Tauri 2 and Rust rather than a bundled browser

Have work that needs a developer?

Send it as it is: a rough idea, a system that half works, or a deadline with nothing built yet. You will get a plain answer on whether Doktahoo is the right developer for it.
