Not knowing is the honest starting point. Doktahoo reads, asks and tests before giving a price, and tells you early if what you asked for would not solve the problem.
Doktahoo is the brand of DOKTAHOO TECHNOLOGY, an independent developer in Selangor, Malaysia: one engineer, running a business registered with the Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) in 2026. Companies hire it to build and look after their software when a full-time developer does not make sense yet. You always deal with the person doing the work, and you get a proper contract and invoices from a registered supplier.
It is Kelantanese Malay, and it is the most honest thing an engineer can say at the start of a project. Malaysian name rules made it official: an invented business name must have its meaning declared before the registrar approves it, so that sentence is on the filing, not in a brand deck.
The hoo is an owl. Owls usually stand for knowing everything; ours admits it does not, so it watches carefully instead. The two eyes in the logo are the whole bird.
Not knowing is the honest starting point. Doktahoo reads, asks and tests before giving a price, and tells you early if what you asked for would not solve the problem.
The scope, the price and every decision go into documents you can hold Doktahoo to. A promise made on a call gets written up afterwards.
Your software should outlive the person who built it. Everything is documented and handed over to accounts your company controls, so another developer can take over.
Send it as it is: a rough idea, a system that half works, or a deadline with nothing built yet. You will get a plain answer on whether Doktahoo is the right developer for it.
