How to put Doktahoo on something
The name, the mark and how they are drawn. For companies and agencies crediting the work, and anyone writing about it.
The name
dok tahu is Kelantanese Malay for “don’t know”. An owl is the symbol of knowing; this one starts from not knowing and goes to find out.
- Doktahoo
- The brand. Use it in sentences, credits and conversation, with a capital D.
- DOKTAHOO TECHNOLOGY
- The registered name, in capitals, on contracts and invoices. SSM 202603242576.
- Not
- DokTahoo, Dok Tahoo, Doktahu, or DOKTAHOO on its own.
The logo
The mark is the word. The double o of doktahoo is a pair of owl’s eyes under one brow, with a gold beak between. It is never set as plain text.
Clear space
Keep one eye of empty ground on every side, measured as the ring of an o (e in the drawings above). Nothing enters it: no text, no edge, no other mark.
Minimum size
Smaller than that, the eyes close up. Use the owl’s eyes alone, as in the browser tab.

The one action colour. Buttons and link underlines only.
Owl gold
The eyes and the beak. Nothing else is gold.
Night
The ground after dark, a plum, not black.
Night, raised
A card or panel lifted one step off Night.
Rose wash
Shophouse walls and highlights.
Celadon wash
Walls, wings and chips.

Signboards and the marker swipe.

Drawings
Everything is drawn the way Malaysia’s urban sketchers work: ink line first, then watercolour laid slightly off it. Never a round cartoon, never a stock icon.
Jalan Dok Tahu. The owl lives in the middle house.

The messenger. It carries a brief away once it sends.
Airmail edge, top and bottom of a card.
Sun and moon, for the light switch.
